Licensing

How do I register?

Please download and complete a registration form and either mail, fax or bring it to our B&B Driving School office. We must have a registration form with payment to hold your spot.

What is B&B's attendance policy?

A student may not miss more than three classes or will be in jeopardy of failure. These classes must be made up within the next class section. The same class material must be made up.

This is a Washington State law.

How do I make up classes?

Each class is numbered. Students must make up the correct class number.

This information may be obtained by calling the main office or talking to your instructor.

How long are your classes?

Program length may vary from location to location.

Washington State law requires all teenage programs to be at least 5 weeks and not over 2 hours a day.

How many hours of driving time are required to complete B&B instruction?

6 hours of driving are required. Drives will be scheduled weekly, and drive times are separate from class times.

How old do I have to be to start driver's ed?

A student must be 15 by the first day of class and may not begin after the 3rd day off class.

How do I get my drivers permit?

You may get a instructional permit at 15 years old when you are registered for a driver's education class. You may get a permit application form from your driver's education teacher up to 10 days prior to class starting or wait until the first day of class. Drives generally start the by second week of class so you must obtain it by your first drive. If you are 15 1/2 you may go to Department of Licensing, pass the Driver's Guide knowledge test and get it without an application.

Documentation you will need:
   - A certified copy of your birth certificate
   - Social security number
   - Permit application
   - A parent or legal guardian.

The Department of Licensing is open Tuesday thru Saturday.  (www.dol.wa.gov)

What do I need to do to get my drivers license?

To get a Washington State Driver's License at 16 years old, you must have completed the following requirements:
   - Completed a Washington State licensed driver's education course
   - Had your permit for 6 months
   - Had 50 hours of at home guided practice (40 of these hours must be during the day, 10 must be at night
   -Passed the Department of Licensing knowledge and driving test with a score of at least 80%

Please take your driver's education completion certificate and the above identification when applying. Department of Licensing is open Tuesday thru Saturday.

How do I know if my student passed the test for the Department of Licensing?

There will be a 099 sticker on the bottom left corner of the certificate. If your student is over 18 years of age they are not eligible for the sticker and must take the written test at the Department of Licensing.
